Playlist: Ground16 Selects His Top Influences

Ahead of Swiss producer Ground16's vinyl and digi release 'Rave Invaders Vol. 1' we caught up with him to find out what producers and artists influence his curations.

Marking the launch of the label Lo-Fidelity which started as a club night in 2019, 'Rave Invaders' is a wonderful concoction of every thing from sultry deep chords, bubbling acid lines and blissful downtempo beats, which momentarily allow the record to breathe before launching into chaotic percussion and electro influences. The release also features a dreamy, trip inducing take on 'Absurbity' from Quartet Series label head Nachtbraker.

Like the record itself, the playlist Ground16 has put together for us at Halcyon pulls on a wide range of inspirations:

"I wanted to do an eclectic selection, between club music, jazz, funk and soul. Those tracks are from my top producers and influences. It’s part of the latest stuff I got on Bandcamp, that I will surely play in clubs, or on my radio show. They all include different emotions or characteristics I love: nostalgia, serenity, joy, energetic, deepness, groove, or subtility… Keep those banging tracks for when clubs reopen, and hit those other tracks right now" (Ground16)
